Crawler Cranes
Crawler cranes deliver excellent mobility over soft surfaces. These multiple-purpose cranes can be used in a broad range of applications, ranging from construction to civil engineering and port cargo handling. Some of the products previously on the "European Version" tab are moved here.
Disadvantages
The main disadvantage of a crawler crane is that they are very heavy, and cannot easily be moved from one job site to the next without significant expense. Typically, a large crawler must be disassembled and moved by trucks, rail cars or ships to be transported to its next location.
Purpose
Crawler cranes in construction are used when the project requires a heavy load to be lifted over long distances or at great heights. They are often used for construction in hard to reach areas and in new installments, or for jobs in poor weather conditions.
Crawler Cranes
ACE Crawler Cranes are used on soft ground for erection and maintenance work. Crawler cranes are similar to Hydraulic Excavators in traction and swing the load through 360 degrees. The machine stability is achieved by the tracks and there is no need of outrigger stabilisation. The basic advantage of the crawler crane is that it is quick in operation on soft ground, compared to other class of cranes. ACE offers Crawler Cranes from 40 tons capacity onwards up to 150 tons.
